2023 WSOP Update

Just a quick update here on my efforts at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

I am planning to play Day 1B of the $10,000 Main Event, and since that’s the biggest event on my schedule, it will definitely have an out-sized impact on my final results. But for now, here’s where things stand.

  • Prior to today, I have entered nine different tournaments. I have spent $11,050 on buy-ins. I cashed two events, and earned a bounty in a third event, so my total cash out is $5262, for a loss of $5788, or an ROI of -52%.
  • Based on what I’ve played so far, if I didn’t play another event, every $350 (1%) piece of my action would get back $292.12 in total wins and buy-in refunds.
  • More realistically, counting the Main Event, the maximum I plan to spend on additional buy-ins going forward is $18,300.
  • So pretty much the worst case scenario–if I spend all those buy-ins and don’t cash a single additional event, the 1% payout would be $109.12.
  • But looking on the more optimistic side, if I can win about $24,000 in the Main Event, we will be free-rolling for the rest of the WSOP.

In short, my Main Event Results will be key, as expected. I will be posting regular updates on Twitter (@N4GN), so feel free to follow along. Thanks for all the encouragement so far!
